Boredom Busters has recently partnered with Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Rady’s is the only children’s hospital in San Diego and serves children from California, Hawaii, Guam, and surrounding states. The hospital serves 75,000 children in the emergency room each year and 220,000 children across the entire hospital in a year. Board Member, Steph Wells, recently went to Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego to donate 140 boxes of toys through Boredom Busters’ High Five Program. Each box contained a deck of cards, a paddleball game, slinky, an activity book, coloring book, pencil and erasers, toy car and an anima action figure. Additionally, Boredom Busters partnered with another 501(c)3 nonprofit, Team: Overwatch, for this donation and provided additional gift bags full of small toys, gift cards, and blankets for children in the hospital. During this visit, Steph & Team: Overwatch founder, David Lyman, met with Mindy Collins from Rady’s Children’s Hospital Foundation and toured the hospital. The boxes of toys will be given primarily to children in the emergency department and oncology infusion unit. Below are photos from the visit!
